To The Third and Fourth Generations

Over the last couple of weeks, I’ve gotten so many dreams forwarded to me for interpretation. Much more than usual. Dream activity has been increasing, and as I take a step back, I see a common theme I’d like to share with you. Because in this common theme, it’s obvious to see that God is doing something corporately right now. I want you to be aware so you don’t miss out!

We are in a season where God is inviting people to turn their attention to their family lines. He’s inviting them to dig in, research, ask questions, and seek out what it is their ancestors were called to do that was either left unfinished, started but abandoned, cut short, or to identify where there may be anointing passed down which they may not even aware of.

“…you share the faith that first filled your grandmother Lois and your mother, Eunice. And I know that same faith continues strong in you. 2 Timothy 1:5 NLT

While God has created each and every one of us with a unique purpose, we must remember that God also thinks generationally. He is the God of Abraham-Isaac-Jacob (Exodus 3:6 and Matthew 22:32). And even if we or our ancestors do not live with an awareness of the purpose for which we were created, the inheritance of many of those blessings that were ordained and held in the heavens for our ancestors can be passed down – up to the third and fourth generations. But it is only those who are willing to seek, knock and ask who will find the inheritance. Just like in the natural, there could be an inheritance available to us that we may not even be aware of. So it is in the spiritual.

I felt the Lord say that for many of us, there is an added measure of grace for reconciliation. Many of whom this is for will have to bridge the gaps of time and space to make this journey. Many will have to finally face the offenses that have remained in the hidden parts of the their hearts. But there is going to be great healing.

The story that was is about to be flipped.

For those who have pain in their ancestry line, God is about to heal that pain and turn – yes greatly turn – that which was intended for evil and draw from it much, much good. The enemy would love nothing more than to see the work that each of us is called to stop at each generation. It takes great energy and it costs great amounts of time and resources to stop and then start something new again. But that is about to change.

For those who are humble and courageous enough to answer this invitation. For those who are gracious and merciful enough to forgive where necessary, know that you have been given the ministry and the message of reconciliation. In other words, God will give you the heart and the words to say. And as a result of the great courage, as a result of the  humility of these faithful ones, many will be drawn and reconciled to Christ because you accepted the invitation and took these steps. (It would be a great idea to read and ask for personal revelation of 1 Corinthians 5.)

A heart of honor will make room for you.

Even if your ancestors were dishonorable, honor the call and the purpose God had in mind when He created them. And consider yourself sent as an ambassador of the kingdom of heaven – on mission – to gather back to God a divine purpose the enemy sought to steal, kill and destroy. Remember, this is always…always….about people.

Ask of Me, and I will give You the nations for Your inheritance, and the ends of the earth for Your possession. Psalm 2:8 NKJV

For those who’s grandparents and great-grandparents (3rd and 4th generations) with whom a connection is just not possible because of death, lost records, etc., Ask. Ask the Lord to reveal to you what they were created and ordained to do, and offer yourself as a vessel through which those God-ordained purposes can be continued. You may be surprised to find that God begins to give you a heart for certain causes, etc. that you may have not had before. Research the meaning of names. There are hidden messages in that. And if you’ve done research in the past, to try and find more information on your ancestry line, but have come up with no answers, now is a good time to try again.

A few last words…

If your family was robbed of anything –
If lives were cut short (such as the loss of a child or an early death due to illness, etc.) –
If something went wrong because of issues of integrity or sin

Ask the Lord. Come before Him and ask that whatever the enemy stole be repaid to you and through you according to His righteousness and justice, that His purposes may be fulfilled as they were intended to be.

We are at a point of the passing of generations. Many of these aged are near the end of their life. Seize the time, in these last hours, available to you.

Then you will take pleasure in the Lord,
And I will make you ride on the high places of the earth,
And I will feed you with the [promised] heritage of Jacob your father; Isaiah 58:14

Forever in His service,

Linda G. Riddle
