When I first started using this recipe a couple of years ago, I made it strictly as a juice. But one day, when peaches were out of season and all I could find were frozen peaches, I switched things around a bit by juicing all the other ingredients first and then blending in the frozen peaches. What I ended up with was a delicious “slushy” kind of drink. In all honesty, when I make this now, I prefer it in slushy form. But you can make it either way.
Flax seeds add an extra dose of fiber and I like the added texture they bring too. You can find flax seeds in just about any grocery store. I buy them whole and then use a coffee grinder to grind them down right before using them for optimum freshness. Give this recipe a try, I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised! Here’s what you’ll need:
Orange-Peach-Flax Juice or “Slushy”
12 carrots
2 large oranges
1 cup frozen peaches
1 tbsp ground flax seeds
Process carrots and peeled oranges through the juicer; move juice over to blender and blend in frozen peaches and flax seeds. Serve and enjoy!
